The film is currently in progress, with editing, color grading, and original music composition still underway. A work-in-progress trailer is available. The Journey Between Lands - Saskatoon is the second chapter of an ongoing film project exploring my relationship to place, migration, and the body’s response to landscape. Created during the harsh Saskatchewan winter, the work reflects the emotional and physical challenges of leaving my home country and beginning again in a new land. Through movement, I explore how my body shifts when placed in a different environment, and how weather, land, space, and surroundings shape the way I move. In contrast to the Cairo chapter, this work listens to the body within the Canadian Prairies, tracing feelings of displacement, resilience, isolation, adaptation, and transformation. Together, the Cairo and Saskatoon chapters examine how movement becomes a way of understanding belonging across two lands, and how the body carries memory while responding to the present environment. This film project was funded by the Canada Council for the Arts and supported by Remai Modern.
