Philosophy

Rawda Mabrouk is a contemporary dance artist, choreographer, and movement teacher whose practice explores the body as an archive of memory, emotion, and transformation. Her movement language is shaped by classical ballet, contemporary dance, somatic practices, improvisation, and her ongoing interest in healing through the body. Rawda’s choreographic work often begins from personal experience, using authentic movement, emotional research, and embodied reflection as starting points for creation. She is interested in how the body can express what language cannot, and how movement can become a vessel for processing memory, diaspora, vulnerability, and belonging. Her dance practice expands beyond performance into teaching and facilitation, where she creates spaces for people to reconnect with their bodies through creative movement, somatic exploration, and Animal Flow. Whether performing, choreographing, or teaching, Rawda approaches movement as both an artistic and healing practice. Her work invites audiences into intimate physical worlds where softness, strength, resistance, and surrender coexist.
